WHAT IT IS

ALULUXE 6063-T5 is an aluminium-surfaced decorative panel product built around aluminium alloy 6063 in T5 temper, which is a medium-strength, heat-treated alloy with good corrosion resistance and a smooth finish. In simple terms, it is a lightweight metal-faced surfacing material rather than a solid metal sheet, so the backing/core and adhesive system matter as much as the face metal.[1][3]

WHERE IT WORKS BEST

It is most useful for wall cladding, feature panels, cabinet fronts, and commercial interiors where a clean metallic look and easy maintenance are important. Aluminium-faced plywood panel constructions are also used where weight needs to stay lower than stone or solid metal while still giving a durable decorative finish.[1][8]

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

Brochure-style claims often omit that performance depends on the plywood core, adhesive quality, and edge protection, not only the aluminium face. Like other aluminium panel systems, it can dent, show scratches, and telegraph substrate movement if installed over an uneven or moisture-prone base.[1][7]

INSTALLATION TIPS

Use a flat, dry, stable substrate and follow the adhesive maker’s instructions for compatible products such as acrylic glue or a high-bond construction adhesive; do not rely on weak general-purpose pastes for large sheets. Leave a small expansion allowance at joints, seal cut edges and exposed plywood immediately, and use clean cutting tools to avoid burrs and face damage.[1][3]

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Clean with a soft cloth, mild soap, and water; avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents, and strong alkaline cleaners that can dull the finish. If installed well, the aluminium face can last for years indoors, but lifespan depends heavily on moisture control, edge sealing, and avoiding impact damage.[3][7]
